Welcome to Royston, Georgia

Welcome to the City of Royston

The City of Royston is located in the central piedmont of northeast Georgia; accessible to numerous lakes, mountains, sporting events, and other activities. Royston is a great place to live and raise a family. The city was originally settled by William W. Asberry around 1850. Royston was incorporated in 1879 and named in honor of W. A. Royston, who owned one of the first general stores in town. The city occupies 3.4 square miles in three counties - Franklin, Hart and Madison - with a total population of around 3,000.

The City of Royston holds its regular city council meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at the Royston Police Department at 6:30PM. The public is encouraged to attend.
