Our quaint town is located in the central piedmont of northeast Georgia; accessible to lakes, mountains, sporting events, and other activities. Royston is a great place to live and raise a family. The City of Royston holds it's regular city council meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at the Royston police department at 6:30PM. The public is encouraged to attend.

Royston was settled by William W. Asberry around 1850. Royston was incorporated in 1879 and named in honor of W. A. Royston, who owned one of the first general stores in town. The city occupies 3.4 square miles with a population around 3,000
